Biography
Legal Assistant

Laura is a lawyer with focus on the protection of children and adolescents. She graduated with honors with a Bachelor’s degree in Law. She presented her thesis titled “The Imprescriptibility of Crimes Against the Sexual Freedom of Children and Adolescents in Bolivia.”
To deepen her knowledge in conflict resolution, Laura completed a certificate in Negotiation, Conciliation, and Arbitration in 2021. She is currently in the process of completing a Master’s degree in Human Rights for Vulnerable Populations at the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar in Sucre.
Since 2022, Laura has been part of the legal team at FUBE, where she works on cases related to sexual violence and access to justice.
She has co-authored several books addressing critical issues surrounding these matters in Bolivia. Among her works are: “Proposal for the Plurinational State of Bolivia to Create Safe Spaces for Children and Adolescents to Grow and Develop Without the Risk of Sexual Violence and to Improve Access to Justice” (2021), presented to the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. “The Culture of Incest and the Crime of Incestuous Rape by Adult Family Members of Children and Adolescents. The Importance of Considering Incest as an Autonomous Crime” (2022). “We Come Brave Volume 1: The First Latin American and Caribbean Analysis of Access to Justice and the Statute of Limitations of Criminal Action from the Perspective of Experts, Survivors, and Activists of Childhood and/or Adolescent Sexual Violence” (2024), where Laura served as editor. “The Forensic Interview with Children and Adolescents Victims of Sexual Violence” (2024), in which she was also a co-author.
Laura has been recognized for her dedication and academic excellence, receiving the following awards: Recognition for Academic Excellence (Honor Roll), Recognition for demonstrated capacity and proficiency as part of the team in the “Virtual Conciliation Hearing Simulation.”
Driven by a strong vision of a just and equitable future, Laura Verduguez Roque continues to fight for the rights of children and adolescents, building a career marked by commitment and integrity.
